Carpe Diem Haiku Kai challenge: Dutch ‘Elfje’

Following the lead of Ese, of Ese’ Voice, I have accepted a Carpe Diem Haiku Kai challenge by Chèvrefeuille, “Little Ones” #10, Dutch ‘Elfje’ in another way, shaken not stirred, to write a Dutch poetry-form ‘Elfje’.

For this first try at Elfje, I offer two poems. The first one is in the original ‘Elfje’ style, having five lines respectively with 1, 2, 3, 4 and 1 word(s), and the second poem in the Carpe Diem Haiku Kai challenge style having syllables vice words.

May

one’s arms

always hold you

tight when the stars

shine

 .

Should

a heart

never feel

the ache of love

lost
